Online Therapy Sessions

Providing Online Psychotherapy to Help You Find Hope! Live Better!

Offering Online Video Therapy Using Your Internet Connection

Switching over from traditional in-person therapy to online therapy may sound strange, but research has shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as an in-office appointments. Plus, this option allows us to continue your care plan without interruption.

Why Online Therapy?

Telehealth minimizes the risk of exposure to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). I’m extremely concerned about the health and safety of clients as well as colleagues and  staff at my office. By only conducting therapy sessions online from my home, I’m going straight to the source and eliminating the risk of anyone being exposed to the virus in my office.

Telehealth alleviates the inconvenience of travel time and associated costs. Even if we weren’t experiencing heightened feelings of stress and anxiety as a result of COVID-19, travelling to and from our office for appointments can be less than relaxing. Things like bad weather, traffic, construction, finding parking, etc. can all make even short commutes frustrating. Online therapy appointments completely eliminate all of the inconveniences of travel.

The benefits of Telehealth are supported by research. Research has found that video therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy.

Most major insurance companies cover Telehealth. If you’re interested in pursuing this option, let me know and we can investigate whether you’re eligible for coverage.

Telehealth requires no special software or technical knowledge. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with an integrated camera and speaker/microphone.

Online Therapy – What It Takes to Make It Happen

  • High speed internet and a computer/laptop /cell phone with video camera and audio.
  • You should be located in a quiet, confidential space when participating in the session.
  • All other computer programs should be closed down and other family members should refrain from live steaming and video games during our session for best camera/audio experience.
  • Contraindicated if there is a risk of suicide or harm to someone else. Here local in-person help is needed and videotherapy would not be a suitable approach.
  • Videotherapy session fees with a psychotherapist are the same as they would be for in-person sessions. You can pay for sessions via e-transfer.
  • Set up appointment by email or phone and review consent form mailed to you.
